Serving Central Connecticut since 1999, Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization and a member of the Hospital for Special Care community. Our mission is to provide benefits in the areas of therapy, education, sports and recreation through the use of equine-assisted activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the well-being of individuals living with physical, emotional or cognitive special needs.
Manes & Motions located at Daniels Farm in Middletown, CT, is set on thirteen acres of pasture and features an indoor riding facility, two outdoor arenas and a beautiful wooded trail for riding. Open year-round, Manes & Motions offers a therapeutic riding program that is modeled after the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (Path Intl.)
Manes & Motions is a place where participants are given the opportunity to experience freedom and empowerment through movement. Horse and rider become part of a therapeutic relationship, offering participants the unique opportunity to discover or to regain a sense of adventure, excitement, accomplishment, and joy. We strive to provide support to our participants, families and caregivers, while providing a safe, challenging and enjoyable environment for our riders.
Our commitment to excellence is demonstrated through our affiliation with Hospital for Special Care and as a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. Just as other professions use standards of excellence and rating systems to improve the well-being of their industries, professionals in the field of equine-assisted activities have a distinction of their own through the Premier Accredited Center (PAC) program. The PAC program and committee certifies centers such as Manes & Motions, which have exceptional standards and have demonstrated excellence in providing quality equine-assisted activities. A Center such as Manes & Motions, that meets these esteemed accreditation criteria based on administrative, facility, program and applicable special-interest standards, becomes a Premier Accredited Center.
